Maynard Jackson HS looked great in the Rankings mid-season, and brought it when it mattered down in Albany earning the AAA Girls team championship overtaking perennial contender Blessed Trinity and upstart Westside Macon.

Our Lady of Mercy was the pre-meet pick coming in and they poured it on during Saturday Finals taking home the 1-A Private Team title.
Georgia Military was a huge favorite coming in and Coach Simpson's bunch put it away early Saturday defending their A Public State title with a 48 point margin of victory.
Marist's Girls equalled what Westlake achieved by 3-Peating as Class Champions. The War Eagles had to work for it during Saturday's Finals as Caitie Fauts was up to the challenge doubling in the 400 and 800 meters.

Morgan Ilse was simply splendid in her final salute to GHSA competition pounding the mondo into submission easily winning the 1600 in 4:56. Team mate Josie Wirtz was 2nd as Marst swept both distance events for 36 HUGE points
Cavanna Epps of Talbotton sweeps the A Distance races by winning the 1600 in 5:48.
It was a race for the ages as Anna Marian Block turned it on the final 800 and set a new Class A State Meet record in the Girls 1600 Meters besting 3200 Champ Emma Grace Hurley going 4:51.68.
Serena Tripodi of Lovett was not going going to be satisfied with anything less than a sub 5:00 and she joined that prestigous elusive Club Friday evening, going 4:59.96 helping Lovett to a huge lead going into Finals.

In one of the most anticipated 3200 races in recent history, Emma Grace Hurley proved she was the best in 1-A Private winning going away at 10:38.

This Class has all the makings of teams rising up or going down...North Springs, wil be the team to beat in AAAAA down in ALB this weekend. But don't sleep on Shaw (Columbus) Northside Warner Robins or Forest Park to contend.

The AA Girls meet is going have some great racing and based on Sectionals Lovett School out of ATL is loaded coming out of Sectionals...Its going to be very competitive to see who earns the final 3 team Podium spots.
