AAAAAA 3200- Lindsay Billings was 'Top of the Bill' for the 6A Girls 3200 after her amazing 4:50 in the 1600 Thursday evening. She went out pretty quick and to her credit Savannah Carnahan stayed with Billings awhile before she took off again...On lap 3 Billings separated from everyone and was in her own Private Idaho the remainder of the race continually increasing her lead. halfway into the race, Bussjager began to close the gap on Carnahan to 10 meters with a pack of 8 medal-hungry gals in a 10 meter spread. 9which began to breakup a bit during lap 5 as Bussjager passed Carnahan near the start of lap 6. Billings began passing runners with 500m left on the back turn continuing to pour it on clocking a sweet 10:25 for a new AAAAAA State meet record. Avery Bussjager held her ground until Carnahan retook 2nd on the backstretch racing home for 2nd in 10:52, Bussjager 3rd in 10:54. Alexandra Melehan of Woodstock ran a very steady race placing 4th in 11:02, Liz Galarza from West Forsyth took 5th in 11:09 followed by Kingsley Green of Etowah in 11:11.
