AAAAA 3200- For 4 laps nearly 12-13 girls were within 10 meters of each other running a very pedestrian pace resembling a 'Golden League' distance race in Pro Track. (Split 1 was 1:32) During lap 5 the Riverwood duo of Elizabeth Graves and Anna Hayden began to work together creating a small gap of 4-5 meters for a couple laps. Olivia Terwilliger of Kell hung back a few meters as did Ansley Heavern from Dunwoody moving up and back from 5th to 7th 8-10 meters back. The top 3 had gapped the 4-8 runners by 10-13 meters with 1000m to go as Terwilliger split up the Riverwood duo moving into 2nd now hunting for first. With 500m left Olivia made a move taking the lead and at the Bell lap held a slim 5-7 meter lead. What the leaders may not have recognized was that Heavern had made up huge ground on lap 2 and at 400 meters was in 3rd, then hit another gear with 350 meters left as on the downstretch she flew by everyone and didn't stop till she crossed the finish line for the win in 11:38.72. Terwilliger regained 2nd and held it posting a 11:45, with Graves 3rd at 11:46. I a torrid finish (a FinishLynx photo finish) for the next 3 spots Hayden crossed 4th in 11:53, Elise Glorvigen of Northgate nipped Alaina Tomlinson from Lagrange both at 11:54 (.01 apart)
