Lindsay Billings of Northview ran a great 1600 going 4:50
Its a real shame we couldn't capture this race on video as everyone expected the meet to stay on schedule. Poor Mary Jeanne Assinzo of Marietta had to sprint to the start line and was reportedly still putting her shoes on when the runners were called to their set position....
Not sure what transpired the first 3 laps as we frantically tried to get setup, but the last lap was all Lindsay Billings of Northview. She flirted with the State meet record leaving the chase pack behind like the Road Runner leaves Wiley Coyote hopelessly chasing clocking a super 4:50.83. It was an outstanding battle for 2nd place as 4 girls were within 2.85 seconds of each other with Milton's Riley Burr taking 2nd in 4:58.88, Savannah Carnahan 3rd (4:59.40), Avery Bussjager 4th (4:59.71) and Assinzo 5th back in 5:01.63.
