On Saturday, September 17, Milton HS is set to host the Fulton County schools Cross Country Championships.
Twenty-One teams converge on Milton stadium to contest this annual invitational that has grown in stature and reputation over the last few years due to great early season performances. The two-day meet will see races at many non-traditional high school distances and showcases many relay and field events along with a great mix of sprint and distance races that give many athletes the opportunity to try something a little different.
With three individual girl qualifiers for the National Championship meet, a team title in the seeded girl’s race & a strong 3rd place in the boys seeded race, Georgia was well represented at the Foot Locker Cross Country South Regional race
Milton swept the Team and Individual titles in Region 5-AAAAAA Saturday morning at Boling Park in Canton. The "Region of Doom" reared it's ugly head at the Region 5-AAAAAA boys race as a 6th-man tie breaker ended up deciding the 4th place team that qualified for state at Carrollton.
The venerable Boling Park course will host one of the “Regions of Doom” Saturday with the running of the 9-team region 5-AAAAAA meet.
The 43rd edition of this event was a wet one with steady light rain throughout but that did not deter over 40 schools coming to compete on the storied golf course at the campus of Furman University in Greenville, SC. Georgia teams again had the upper hand with all team winners and individual race winners representing Georgia schools.
