  • State was a Crazy Affair with Many Upsets, Perhaps Spurred on by the Cold, Breezy Conditions...

Grace Tinkey's blazing run melted the frost at Carrollton in 18:04.74 Surprise! Surprise! Suprise! Gomer Pyle would be happy and Sgt. Carter would be livid! In the coldest conditions State has been ran in recent history, many teams took advantage of adverse conditions  mentally and physically overcoming  them to race past higher ranked squads enroute to the ultimate victory, Team State titles.  Walton and Darlington shocked their classes on the Girls side and Marist proved yet again, that depth is the key in sweeping the AAAA titles.  For Westminster, it was business as usual in AA, though Blessed Trinity's gals gave them a run in the Girls race. Brookwood and Wesleyan proved depth and pack running continue to win championships in Boys 5A and A and St.Pius X's boys fortified their stonghold in 2010  in 3A. And quietly, the Columbus girls made it 2 titles in the last 3 years with a nice performance.  Grace Tinkey proved beyond any doubters that she is the new queen of Cross Country in Georgia!
