Even though not running at full strength, Brookwood left it all out on the Course and will be heading back to Nike Nationals in Portland Oregon with friendly rival Alec Klassen of Parkview as he punched his ticket placing 3rd overall!
Despite not having the services of the top 3 Boys Programs in the State, Georgia's athletes chosen by the Atlanta Track Club performed well led by Grace Tinkey's repeat 10th place performance earning her a trip back to San Diego. Cody Barger was the top male placing 16th in 15:20.

This was by far the best crop of runners to be picked from South of the Border, even after continuing to drop the Borderline nearly a County South excluding this season. Surprise! Surprise! Suprise! Gomer Pyle would be happy and Sgt. Carter would be livid! In the coldest conditions State has been ran in recent history, many teams took advantage of adverse conditions mentally and physically overcoming them to race past higher ranked squads enroute to the ultimate victory, Team State titles. Walton and Darlington shocked their classes on the Girls side and Marist proved yet again, that depth is the key in sweeping the AAAA titles. For Westminster, it was business as usual in AA, though Blessed Trinity's gals gave them a run in the Girls race. Brookwood and Wesleyan proved depth and pack running continue to win championships in Boys 5A and A and St.Pius X's boys fortified their stonghold in 2010 in 3A. And quietly, the Columbus girls made it 2 titles in the last 3 years with a nice performance. Grace Tinkey proved beyond any doubters that she is the new queen of Cross Country in Georgia!
