The Atlanta Track Club will showcase the best high school Milers in the State at the "All Comers Track and Field Series". This is your opportunity to run with the best in Georgia and prove one's mettle.

The Scots Invitational marked the final home meet for Galloway's most accomplished Track & Cross Country star - State Champion Reilly Friedman. The Inaugural Metro Area Championships proved to be an exciting two days of jumping, throwing, and racing at St. Pius X on Saturday, March 28, & Monday the 30th. Meet Director Ryan McClay made adjustments to the schedule for the benefit of the athletes as unseasonably cold temperatures brought an unwelcome chill Saturday. Mother Nature gave Old Man Winter a nudge Saturday, letting him know his days are numbered. The opening meet of the 2015 season at Landmark Christian was hugely popular, with the maximum number of schools participating. Although a steady headwind down the finishing straightaway made conditions challenging, this did not deter very enthusiastic competition.
After 2 weeks of very little Track here in Georgia, the Parkview FAT meet was a welcome relief for anxious competitors to test their mettle against some good competition. Over 30 heats in the Boys 200 made for a busy nite...
The 1st Annual Big Peach Distance Kickoff was a huge success to begin the Outdoor season as many competitive races were produced by the 12 schools that attended. It was windy as all get out, but eased up a bit after the 800 meter races began. Parkview as usual did a great job hosting the event.

All tv's will be tuned to the first stop on the yearly pro indoor track circuit: the New Balance Boston Indoor Grand Prix. We will have food specials for all GTC fans, and will be joined by GTC's roster of Olympic athletes to offer commentary and insight to the behinds the scenes stories of the athletes competing. Be sure to get your Autographs of from GTC athletes and look out for GTC giveaways. Cypress Pint and Plate is located at 6th Street and Cypress Street in the heart of midtown Atlanta.
The USATF Junior Olympic Regional Qualifier was held in Myrtle Beach South Carolina last Saturday at the Whispering Pines course. Athletes from the SC USATF Association were not required to qualify to move onto Nationals . But, a great many USATF GA State qualifiers took on the challenge. Dan McCauley took some great pics and he has passed them on to Ga.MileSplit.
Robby Keough of Whitefield Academy has signed his letter of intent with the University of Virginia to run track. Keough is the 2014 Georgia State Track Champion in the 800 & 1600 Meter runs. Keough's PR in the 800m is 1:53.49 and 4:15.35 for the 1600m. Last Saturday, Keough earned the Silver Medal in the GA XC Sate Championship
Those tricky AA Girls schools....ran up in the 3A- 4A races with Lovett and Wesleyan's Girls having a pre-State 'scout' of each other 2 weeks befote the 'Big Dance' at 12:40pm. Serena Tripodi and Jenna Gearing dueled for the Overall w/ Triodi winning by :20 in 19:28.. What was interesting if one looks at results, is Wesleyan proved they can run with Lovett and if 2 of Wesleyan's girls can best their counterpart on Lovett's squad its going to be CLOSE. White's Girls edged Woodward by 9 points. Westminster's Boys upended 4A power North Hall by 2 points showing late signs they will be in the mix w/ East Jackson and Blessed Trinity at State. Quintin Miles and Corson Teasley swept the top 2 spots for North Hall.
5A schools met some small school competition as schools are allowed to run up at Last Chance. Forsyth Central warmed up for Region winning the Boys race over A Private Athens Academy and Jones County. The Athens Academy Girls were not as kind winning the Girls race beating 4A ranked Columbus by 11 points showing steady improvement all season long and could give Landmark a race for their money in 2 weeks. Anna Marion Block from AA and Justin Weegar of Evans (pictured) were Overall winners.
It was a long day of racing and perhaps a few tempo runs at Carrollton Last Chance as evidenced by a few of the top athletes competing. In the 6-A races South Forsyth's squads toured the course winning both races easily as the other 6A 'Powers' opted to rest and prep for Region conpetition. Matt Patterson and Savannah Carnahan swept the Overall races for South....
It was a long day of racing and perhaps a few tempo runs at Carrollton Last Chance as evidenced by a few of the top athletes competing. Nineteen 1A & 2A schools were registered for the early and chilly 8:00am Boys start. However, only nine started with the others opting to run in later races. Galloway Boys proved they are title contenders beating several ranked squads. Friedman strolled to 1st in 16:47. Landmark's Girls (sans Kathryn Foreman who is nursing an injury) won the Girls race with Nicole Fegans and Sarah Foreman taking 1st and 2nd.

A beautiful grove of pecan trees provided an ideal setting for the 33rd Annual Westover Invitational. Heavy storms the night before moved out to leave clear skies for a record number of enthusiastic runners. Comprised of forty-six Varsity Teams and fourteen Middle School Teams, the competitors gathered at the start to test the newly designed, relatively fast course at Robert Cross Middle School in Albany, GA.
The Georgia International Horse Park provided the perfect venue on this overcast and cooler morning for runners to turn in terrific performances. In the White (Championship) Varsity race, Lakeside Junior, Davis Stockwell, and Shannon Fair of Aquinas emerged victorious in the most competitive races of the day.
