1A-2A Race
Nineteen 1A & 2A schools were registered for the early and chilly 8:00am Boys start. However, only nine started with the others opting to run in later races. Among others shown are Galloway's Reilly Friedman #472, Leo Mancusi-Ungaro #901, Griffin McCauley #908, Solomon Burt-Murray #902, Max Heaberlin #906 (black & red shoes).
The Dynamic Duo - Reilly Friedman and Robby Keough of Whitefield played nice as they allowed Frosh Griffin McCauley to set the pace for the first mile at 5:20. During the third mile, Friedman went to work and opened up a 33 second lead over by Keough by the finish, 16:47.77 to 17:20.03. Max Heaberlin of Paideia earned the Bronze, posting a solid 17:47.18.
The Scots of Galloway took the win, putting up a Team score of only 40 points. In an extremely tight race, Paideia and Whitefield tied with 62 points, but the Python's 6th runner placed 25th to the Wolfpack's 27th place, boosting Paideia to 2nd.
The Landmark Varsity Girls took control of the challenging Carrollton course right from the gun. Pictured runners include Frosh Sarah Foreman #606, Frosh Mary Kellison Thorne #609, Nichole Fegans (Landmark, center, black tights), and Galloway's Caroline Henry #467.
