Most improved runners is one of my all time favorite things to calculate here at Georgia MileSplit. As a coach, we all love a good story of a kid who works really hard in the offseason and really finds a groove to make a big jump in time. The best runners in the state will always get plenty of attention. But oftentimes the best stories can be found from the kids who are the top of the most improved lists. Some of them are a little circumstantial, of course. But for the most part the kids who make these lists are the ones who worked really hard over the last 6-12 months to improve. This sport is not one that you can get better at overnight. It takes months, and oftentimes years, of consistent commitment to improve. You can't fake it or get lucky. And it's why we're all drawn to the sport. And as a result we're going to look at our most improved athletes on a week by week basis.
