Top 35 finishers from the VG Race at Saucony Battle of Atlanta. Kathryn Foreman wins unchallenged at 19:04
Armed with a sponsor this season the 7th edition of the 'Battle of Atlanta' has 60 teams signed up ready to run on historic Nash Farms Battlefield where a huge Civil War re-enactment is held every year. Last year's meet attracted close to 2000 runners more are registered this season. The Nash Farms course is a 2.5 loop 95% grass course. Most consider the course moderate and it is the most spectator friendly course in Georgia.
Marietta has become one of the top HS Cross Country programs in Georgia and the Blue Devils proved their top 6A 'Pre-Season' Rankings sweeping the varsity team titles Saturday at Nash Farm Battlefield. It was a great day of racing including Landmark Christian's Kathryn Foreman once again running 'on her own island' dominating the Varsity Girls race and North OC's Tyler Jones coming into his own taking the Varsity Boys overall win. 5A ROWs for week ending 8-30 (as well as 1A-4A) got delayed a bit by food poisoning, but they are coming...Dunwoody's Ansley Heavern and Allatoona's Colton Page were selected this week after their performances at Berry and Saucony Battle of Atlanta.
Week 2 Ending 8-30 ROWs were both very deserving of this honor and happened at Saucony Battle of Atlanta. North Oconee's Tyler Jones was the overall Boys winner in 16:11 and Eagles Landing star Betty Jackson took 8th place in 20:32.
Some intense competition was answered at Saucony Battle of Atlanta as 1A Private ROWs Colson Hagan of Hebron Christian and Nicole Fegans from Landmark Christian showed their mettle.
