Collins Hill Girls and Brookwood Boys Win Gwinnett Co. Championships

In a meet that was closer than some expected, the Collins Hill girls overcame a tough Parkview girls squad to win the Gwinnett Co. Championships. While on the boys side, Brookwoods boys used depth throughout their line up to overcome the Collins Hill boys. Brittany Hall, of Meadowcreek, posted some outstanding times in both the 400 (56.69) and 800m (2:14.39). Nicole Okolo, of Collins Hill, posted the states fastest time in the 100 hurdles, winning in 14.28. In the final race of the evening, Collins Hill added an exclamation point as Erin Guglielmo of Collins Hill ran a 58.5 anchor leg to overtake Micah Clark of Parkview in a dramatic finish.
On the boys side, Jeff Brown, of Dacula HS, won the boys 100m in 10.73. Brandon Erwin, of Grayson took home double gold in the 200 and 400m. Jesse Marino, of Collins Hill, posted a 1:56.32 to take the 800m title. Nathan Frasier, of Collins Hill, won the 3200 in 9:41.04. Antoine Carter, of Berkmar, won two golds in the 100 and 300 hurdles in 14.58 and 39.24. Norcross Boys posted a meet record in winning the 4x100m over Brookwood 42.57 to 42.58.
