The Speedsters
Ja'ree Williams - McEachern - 100m: 10.45
Williams is currently the king of the straightaway. His 10.45 at the MTFXCCGA Invitational stands as the state's fastest FAT (Fully Automatic Timing) mark this season. The senior is showing the kind of explosive start that makes him a favorite for a podium finish in May.
Jayson Jones - Norcross - 200m: 20.78
Just a sophomore, Jones is putting the entire state on notice. His 20.78 is not just fast for a 10th grader-it's one of the fastest times in Georgia history for any class. He already looks like a potential "once-in-a-generation" talent in the long sprints.
Jamari Rousseau - Landmark Christian - 110mH: 13.88
Rousseau is currently the only hurdler in the state to dip under the 14-second mark this season. His technical precision over the barriers is elite, and his 13.88 FAT time makes him the clear man to beat in the short hurdles.
The Long Sprinters
Jacoby Pasley - Bradwell Institute - 400m: 47.33
Pasley is the current state leader in the quarter-mile. His 47.33 at the MTFXCCGA Invitational was a masterclass in pacing, and he shows no signs of slowing down. As a junior, he's leading a very competitive field of 400m runners.
Allen Israel Sulton - Fayette County - 800m: 1:53.61
Sulton has established himself as the premier middle-distance runner in the state this spring. His 1:53.61 at the Atlanta Games Invitational is the mark everyone else is chasing. His tactical awareness in the second lap makes him incredibly hard to beat.
The Distance Titans
Riley Comstock - Harrison - 1600m: 4:14.20
Comstock is having a breakout season. His 4:14.20 at the Longhorn Stampede puts him near the top of the state rankings and confirms that Harrison High remains a distance powerhouse. Watch for him to challenge the 4:10 barrier before the season is out.
Lucas Johnson - Westminster Schools of Augusta - 3200m: 9:14.17
Johnson has been a model of consistency. His 9:14.17 at the Marietta Distance Carnival is currently the leading times in the state. He has the strength to hang with the lead pack in high-intensity races and the kick to finish them off.
The Field Technicians
Dacian Davis - Monroe Area - Shot Put: 58-00.00
Davis is the premier junior thrower in the state, but he's also holding his own against the best seniors. His 58-foot toss at the Javianne Oliver Invitational is a massive mark that establishes him as a legitimate state-title contender in the heavy metal events.
Khalen Pinkard - Carrollton - Triple Jump: 50-4
Pinkard is performing at a national level. Having already cleared the 50-foot mark, he is chasing historic records. His combination of speed and power in the triple jump makes him one of the most exciting field athletes to watch in the country.
Jamari Johnson - Tift County - High Jump: 7-0.00
Johnson is the state leader in the vertical jumps. His 7' 0" clearance at the Buford HS Elite Relays is a strong early-season mark. With the weather warming up, don't be surprised to see him challenging a top mark all time by the time the state meet rolls around.
Sean Green - Camden County - Long Jump: 24-04.50
Green is a dynamic jumper who has already put up a massive 24' 4.5" mark this season. His ability to hit big jumps early in the competition puts immense pressure on his rivals and makes him a favorite in any pit he enters.
