On November 11, Southland Academy's Wright Calhoun signed with Columbus State University to run track and cross country. Wright was the number one runner for GISA Southland for each of his four full years on the varsity -- winning four consecutive individual Region 3 Championships and finishing as GISA AAA state runner-up four consecutive times. He ran 15:54 in his last run at the GISA Championships in October 31 to lead his team to its third consecutive team championship. Wright lives in Americus.
