Devin Dixon of Eagle's Landing HS Signs with Texas A&M

     

Devin began his HS running career as 10th grader in Track and realized his potential by winning the Henry County Championship in both the 1600 and 800 meters. Devin followed that, by winning the Region titles in both events and capped of his Inaugural season by capturing the AAAA State title in the 800m. (photo by Daniel McCauley)

     
In his first season of XC, Devin won several championships and was 6th at AAAA state. As an 11th grader he swept the County and Region titles in the 800/1600m enroute to defending his title in the 800 clocking a 1:52.22 posting the fastest time of the day at the Ga Olympics. A few of Devin's other accolades in the 800m, include winning the Taco Bell title and setting a personal record at New Balance Nationals. This Fall in Cross Country, Devin won the Disney XC Invitational and defended his County and Region titles, before ending the season placing 6th at the muddy State meet. On his visit to Texas A&M, Aggie head coach Pat Henry, informed Devin that A&M was building their Track team around 2 of the top 800m runners in the country (Donovan Braser and Devin) and plans to use them together as a key part of the Aggie's 4 x 400 relay squad.
