Jefferson seems to always have a vaulter and Mason Hamrick has the top bar in Ga this season at 15-0 and teamate James Howard is #2 at 14-0. William Stuart of Westminster comes in at 13-6. The HJ features Keyth Fightmaster from Calhoun whose pr is 6-11. Miquavious Searcy from Lamar Co. will challenge at 6-8. There are 6 athletes in contention for Discus Gold with D'Vontae Bedford from McIntosh County tops at Sectionals with a best toss of 148-9, Harrison McCamey of Westminster (148-4) Charlie Woerner from Rabun (144-2) Tej Suber of Lovett (143-7) will challenge. No one had a 50' mark in the Shot this Spring for 2A but 4 athletes have prs within a foot of each other including Randy Wade from Early Co. (48-4) Bryan Kato from Thomasville (47-10) Bedford (47-2) and Woerner (47-1) The LJ turns into a battle for team points as Lamar's Searcy (23-2.25) and Romarius Gaulden from Fitzgerald (23-2) will seek to use all the board seeking a Gold. Searcy (45-7) will take on another Purple Cane' in Trey Graham (46-7) in the TJ. Mitavius Brooks from 'Brooks County' comes in with a mark of 45-1.
 
Relays
 
Lamar County thrives in the relays as evidenced by their 47.74 at Sectionals. Washington-Wilkes brings some heat at 42.49, Fitzgerald will push with a sb of 42.53.  Almost every 4x400 squad pr'd at Sectionals though no team went sub 3:25 meaning expect a log jam in this event. Westside Augusta has the fastest time at 3:25.05, Calhoun (3:25.14) Fitzgerald and Lamar's state title hopes may reside in the outcome of this race Fitzgerald (3:26.45) Lamar (3:29)

The 400m will be tight as GAC's Micah Abernathy leads 2A at 49.27. Looking to knock him off may be Westside's Gabriel Herrington (50.5) Jared Pepper of Model (50.5) or Temperance Simmons from East Laurens (50.61) The top 7 100m sprinters maxed out at Sectionals with some scary fast times including season leader Jaquivis Cannon from East Laurens (10.55) Mario McClendon from Bleckley (10.67) Greene County's Nigel Brown (10.68) and T'Ville's Mario Cherry (10.69)  Brown from Greene burned down a 21.58 at Sectionals in the 200m, with McClendon clocking a 21.76, Lance Austin from Lamar going 21.86 and Justin Parrish from Metter at 21.99.  Westminster will be prepared to perhaps sweep the 800m as Jordan Flowers (1:57.35) and Austin Dhillon (1:58) led 2A this season. Spencer's Eddie Stafford could challenge with a pr of 1:58 from an early season MCSD meet.

Both hurdles events will be battles for crucial team points as Fitzgerald's Graham and Lamar's Austin have been the best in 2A all season. Graham has bests of (14.73/38.2) Austin (14.72/38.61) Dalton Hill (39.79) from Jefferson will chase in the 300h with Dubre Martin of Laney and Charlie Woerner from Rabun County will contend in the 110h.

Westminster's title hopes may hinge on how well they do Thursday/Friday evening. The Cats are in position to possibly sweep both events led by defending 1600m champ Flowers (4:25) and Dhillon (4:29) Miller Kettle from GAC will push in both races (4:29/9:56) Stafford of Spencer may contend as well... In the 3200 Westminster has Graham Huff (9:55) and Charlie McKnight (10:21) Benedictine's Sam Geha may have something to say about the outcome w/ prs of 4:29/10:12)
