Individual Race

It was quite a dual between Ruthie Powell of The Heritage School and tiny Jodie Holodak of Augusta Prep for over 2 miles as ran as if attached to the hip before the street crossing before Powell began to slowly power away on the long hill taking the Individial state title posting the top Girls time of the meet in 19:43  Holodak kept her within sight though and easily took 2nd place going sub 20 clocking a 19:56. A cluster of runners finished within :16 including Dale of Holy Spirit was 3rd, followed by Cali Ruth Hays of Stratford in 20:35, Virginia Moore of Deerfield-Windsor 5th in 20:38, Tallant of champ Mount De Sales 6th and Jamie Holodak 7th.

Team Race

Well, well..where has Mount De Sales been hiding this season since the Southland Kickoff Classic? Their girls were considered amongst the favorites by a couple of knowledgable GISA coaches in their teams' travels in the state this Fall and the Cavaliers fended off higher ranked teams with a 18 point margin capturing the AAA Girls team championship. Jessy Tallant led the team once again placing 6th in 20:39, but their 2-5 girls were the key to victory. Madison Stokes placed 12th in 21:27 and Faith Siror 14th in 21:49. Augusta Prep held off Holy Spirit Prep by 8 points taking the runnerup spot. Jamie and Jodie Holodak led Augusta Prep finishing 2nd (19:57) and 7th (20:46) respectively. Leading Holy Spirit was Angela Dale placing 3rd in 20:33
