Georgia MS State Cross Country State ReCap, What a Day! Oct 18, 2014

One couldn’t have asked for a nicer day down in Cochran as 9 races were contested as 6 State team champs were crowned.    The Bleckley County crew as usual did a fantastic job putting on the meet and every race ran ontime.  The competition was intense in every race and the fans seemed to really enjoy the meet atmosphere.  He course was in excellent shape and definitely not a pancake and a true 2 Mile. The ‘Broom’ was in action today as Marist once again, after competing in very few meets that turn in results swept the Large School races as usual…Holy Innocents duplicated that feat in the Medium School races.  The top performers of the day were Haley Hooper from Lovett as she crushed the field in the ‘medium school race’ going 12:04 and  James Williams of Walton Youth Track was the boys top gun at 11:28  Pics Coming Sunday Evening...Marist won the Large School Best Program Award, Holy Innocents the Medium School and Athens Christian the Small School Best Program Award.

Middle School State Boys Preview Oct 17, 2014

Wow, this year's MS Boys side of the state meet promises to be outstanding as over 89 teams are entered and nearly 30 individuals.  3 new champions will be crowned. There has been an additional class added as the meet has now grown to over 1600 athletes. A 'medium school' race will include MS that feed into 2A-3A high schools. As always, Bleckley County and the 'Runnin' Royals are great hosts as this meet has grown exponentially since its inception.  The large School Boys race is going to look like the charge of the 'Barbarian Hordes' at the crack of the gun and the unsuspecting folks in Cochran may think a small quake hit. The finish is sure to pure chaos as the fans line the fence.
