Middle School State Boys Preview
Small School-
The Small school boys race favors pretty much favors the same teams as the girls with Landmark Christian, Paideia, Athens Christian, First Presbyterian Day and Hebron Christian. The race for the Individual title will feature Noah Irwin from Athens Christian, Elijah McCauley from Paideia, Jaime Jacoby of George Walton and watch out for another Tinkey from First Presbyterian Day. (Christian Tinkey)
Medium School-
Much like the Girls side, the teams who have won titles this season like Holy Innocents are to be favored. Host Bleckley County seems to always run quite well at home in the spotlight with the home fans egging them own. Jefferson MS should do well. Lovett has a good program and could make waves. The Individual battle could come down to Dawson Frey from Oglethorpe County, some Westminster Cats including Will Wallace and Peter Huff and in purple look out for CJ Rich from Bleckley.
Large School- This one is going to be a barnburner as more than 300 boyz will be jostling for postion. The top runners will need to take advantage of the start and be first to the nearly 180 degree turn back towards the first pass under the finish line so they can avoid the mob. If not...it will be very difficult to navigate on the narrow course and work one's way back into contention as its only a 2 Mile race. Teamwise, I would have to give the advantage to the defending champ Marist again. Again, without any team database info the champ could be a surprise. Clubs have become divided into their actual 'middle schools' hey attend really making it a lottery.
Individuals are much easier to talk about than team predictions. I like Andrew Scott who was last week's MS ROW after his 11:07 at Disney, Caleb harris from Bainbridge MS, Sean Rager, jeremy Ericson, Michael Patterson, Trevor Blitchington, Surya Rangaswamy and Nikolas Rowlands.
