Ella Hanemann, Paige Comstock, and Summer Muxlow are 3 big names to keep an eye on this weekend
The 2024 Georgia Middle School State Championships are this weekend! so the high school kids will take a back seat for the next few days as they prepare for region while we focus on the middle school athletes in our coverage. This is one of the coolest meets of the year every year and delivers some amazing performances while also bringing us some fun surprises. The fact that track and field (and cross country) has grown so much at the middle school level is incredible and exciting. Heck, the state track meet has grown so much that we might need a new venue to dedicate more space and lanes to these incredible athletes. But kudos to the hosts for putting on the best event possible every year. You have to give credit where credit is due, and they do an awesome job giving these kids a space to showcase their talent.
So let's take a look at how things stack up going into the meet. I'm sure these will get a huge facelift this upcoming weekend, as they always do. But this should give you an idea of what to be looking for at the meet as you prepare for a wild two days of competition.
