Ga.MileSplit Week 8 Runners of the Week Oct 15, 2013

Kevin Mills is no stranger to being selected as a Runner of the Week, both All-Class and 6A. His sterling 14:57 in perfect conditions at the fast Fox Farms layout (boosted by ideal conditions) puts him 9th on the MileSplit National 5K rankings. Tayler Tuttle of Providence Christian held off a valiant test from Savannah Carnahan winning the overall title at Asics/Alexander in 17:32. Like Mills. Tayler is a repeat winner of this honor.

Alexander/Asics Course Gets Torched by Mills, Tuttle and Scores of Ga Harriers Oct 12, 2013

When the 'House is a Rockin' Don't Bother Knockin'  In perfect early morning race conditions, the Championship Boys and Girls took full advantage of 'The Perfect Storm' and Coach Parrish of Darlington summed it up well: "Immaculate manicured golf-course-like grass; perfect footing, awesome weather... perfect for Championship races. Great, deep competition and the course is as flat as a pancake." It of course, lol, "course" was a sounding board for naysayers as usual, even though Coach Robinson challenges anyone to wheel it as he takes great pride in making sure it was legit, and I don't doubt him. The facts are: 24 guys under 16:00; 111 guys under 17:00 and 48 girls under 20:00.. One thing's for sure, Georgia runners ate it up and will be back!  Kevin Mills goes 14:57 (pic above) and Tayler Tuttle 17:32...6A 'Ridge' takes both Team Titles!
