Josh Brickell roared around McAlpine Park in 14:49 placing 2nd in the Boys Seeded race and Brad Hort earned his first trip to San Diego placing 6th cracking sub 15: as 2 Georgia HS boys will again make the trip to Foot Locker Nationals. Another Georgian who qualified was Simon Holden of the Baylor School in Chattanooga, Tn as he placed 9th actually making it 3 total. Other top Ga Boys were Daniel Navarro 25th, Austin Sprague 28th and Michael Thurston 34th.

Great day for TEAM GEORGIA as the boys "team" won scoring 67 points defeating mighty Virginia and the girls were 2nd scoring 78 points, Georgia's best showing in years.... Kathryn Foreman (17:51) led a strong Girls team placing 13th, followed by Alexa Womack in 17th, Alex Cameron 19th, Anne Kelly 25th and Peyton Thomas 28th.

Other Highlites from Georgia athletes at Footlocker South:
Tyra Holloway won the girls junior race in 18:44 and Erin Gant was 5th in 19:05.
Avery Bussjager was 2nd in the sophomore girls race in 18:48 and Katie Sanders was 7th in 18:57.
Sam Bowie was 8th in the freshman boys race in 16:28.
Owen Bailey was 3rd in the sophomore boys race in 15:57 followed by Ryan Peck in 4th in 15:58.
Witt Nix was 2nd in the senior boys race in 15:55.
Also notable was Coach Ryan McClay of St.Pius turning in a 15:50 in the Men's Open race.
Christy Beckman from Ga won the Women's Open race in 17:15 and Whitney Bishoff (ACS grad) was 2nd.

Also of note is a strong showing from the up and coming 13/14 year olds. That group of boys turned in a first place finish with 45 points. Led by Sean Parker who finished third overall at 9:57. The strength of the Ga runners coming up from the middle school ranks are impressive. Our top MS harriers included Frank Crippen-Ginsburg, and Jordan Jones (a young 7th grader.) The Girls team from GA was also awesome in the 13-14 group winning in dominating fashion placing.6 in the top 20. Mackenzie Walsh was the top Ga Youth runner in that age group placing 3rd.
