Georgia XC Returners Team Rankings: 2A Girls

Can Shari Brown return Landmark to the top of the podium for the 12th team title?

Cross Country season has officially started, but we are still a few weeks away from any serious meets, so it's a little bit of a mystery how things will stack up this fall. But what we can do is look back on what kids did last year and how they project to do this year based on who returns for each team. This is never a perfect ranking because it doesn't account for injured runners, transfers, fast freshmen, etc... But it gives us an idea of how things stack up in each classification going into the season. Also keep in mind that these rankings are based on PR from last year and some teams ran faster courses than others which could skew them a little bit.

Up next is class 2A Girls which should be fairly tight up front. The defending champions from Savannah Arts graduated a very strong senior class which opens the door for a new champion this year. The slight favorite appears to be Landmark who despite winning 11 titles in 15 years, hasn't won on the girls side since 2017. They'll be challenged by last year's runner up in Athens Academy and also Fellowship Christian who will be seeking their first ever team title. Fannin county and Union county could be the final two fighting for a podium spot. Individually we have Shari Borwn as the favorite given she has the fastest PR and is the top returner from state. But don't count out Maya Davis who had a monster track season and could be ready to take over 2A this fall. Other top contenders include Georgia Meredith, Adelaide Ellis, and Lola Hunter who have the next fastest PR's AND are the top returning finishers from state behind Brown and Davis.
