2021 Georgia XC Meet of Champions is set for November 13th

The Georgia High School Cross Country Meet of Champions in 2020 had outstanding Boys and Girls fields with very tight team competitions at last year's 5th running of the event. The fields were deep, and many of the athletes achieved a season or all-time personal best. The feedback from those who participated last year was excellent. We are excited about 2021!
Date: Nov. 13, 2021
Time: TBA- in the morning
Location: ONE Church XC Course in Peachtree City/ Fayetteville (Starr's Mill HS Course)
Who: The top 25 Boys teams and top 25 Girls teams from the Selection Committee & the top 20-25 individual Boys & Girls who are not on the selected teams.
Awards: Top 20 individuals will receive medals; Top 3 teams will receive "Meet of Champions" Team medals; All invited athletes will receive a special Meet of Champions shirt
Meet Selection Criteria:
1. Top Teams based on the 1st half of the season have already been extended invitations.
2. State Champions: 1st place teams in all 8 GHSA classifications will get an auto-invite; Top-2 individuals in all 8 GHSA classifications will get auto-invites as well.
3. Next Wave of teams: The next set of top teams and individuals will be invited based on Late season meets, region, and state performances.
The selection committee will be contacting teams and individuals who are in the next wave/ on the bubble after their Region meet. Additionally, those selected will be posted on MileSplit and the first wave of invitations will be sent out this week!
With more coaches and athletes knowing about the Meet of Champions this year, they have planned it into their schedules, and we expect the strength of the fields to be even better in 2021!
