Here we are once again, locked into almost two weeks of Region championships across our big beautiful state. 64 region meets will be contested to determine which individual athletes and school relay squads will move on to Sectionals on May 8th. What is entirely unique for Georgia is we are finally following NFHS guidelines and the 4x800 relay is now a scored event at State. Also, now three athletes per school can compete at a region meet and even move on to Sectionals if they finish in the top 4 of an event. But, wait, that's not all, they can also all move on to State if they finish in the top 8 at Sectionals. This gives traditionally deep, strong programs, with great coaching an advantage.
We will update the below scoreboard every evening as results are self-posted or submitted in via e-mail. Those regions in bold print have 'complete final results' Also if you do not see a region in bold print, but have a link, day 1 results are posted,. Not everyone submits results in a usable format, those will have to be sent into MileSplit Stats... Let the Games Begin
There are many meets that will begin on Thursday 4/29, so stay tuned, as the grand dance has not concluded...
