Outdoor Track: Which High School Boys 'Won Week Ten'

Alexander 4 x 800 squad at McEachern

The 2021 outdoor regular season drew to a close after the last weekend of very competitive invitationals. There's not much left on the slate barring a few Region 'tune-ups', senior nights, and the like. Region meets actually began today with the 3A Public school championship, and 7-AAAAA day 1 at Calhoun HS. The highlight of Week 10 was Zack Truitt of Landmark Christian School running a US #2 time of 4:06.69 besting Gatorade Georgia XC Runner of the Year, Kamari Miller of Marietta (4:08.90), and Sully Shelton from Harrison who turned in a US #5 4:07.42 at Cobb County just three weeks earlier. Bradley Favors of Stephenson turned in a US #4 time of 47.07 at DeKalb County on Friday evening. Both are up for voting as National Boys Performer of the Week on MileSplit.com (USA) Justin Wachtel of Mary Persons and Andrew Jones of North Hall dueled at North Oconee under the Lights last Friday nite in a pre-3A state warmup with Wachtel taking the win clocking a 9:02 to Jones' 9:09... Isaac Osifo of West Forsyth is flirting with clearing the 7-0 barrier in the high jump as he had a bar of 6-11 at the Forsyth County Championships. Jordan Fick from North Oconee continued to prove he is the best multi-athlete in 4A clearing 15-06 in the pole vault and posting a 38.48 in the tough 300 hurdles. Three discus men had throws of 160+ including Josh Dare of Creekside (168-8), Seth Allen of New Manchester (165-0.50), and Jevan Parara from Alpharetta at 162-08. Isn't it great that Track & Field is back in full swing here in Georgia once again with State meets only three weeks away, as we scream together with a barbaric Yawp!! (Dead Poets Society)
