Gober Wins Overall, Union Conquers State's Hills

Union County rose to the occassion, charging the hills of Carrollton with zest, as the Panthers won their first Cross Country team title in school history. Union had a better team avg and 1-5 split than runnerup Armuchee. Soph Luke Gambrell earned a nod on the All-State team placing 4th overall in 17:56

Guy Gober from Rabun County added another individual state title to his resume, as the senior churned away throughout the race posting the winning time of 17:17

Armuchee proved they belonged near the top of the rankings all Fall as the NW squad were team runnerups just 11 points back, led by Sr Chaney Holder's 3rd place finish of 17:44

Banks County held on for 3rd place on the team Podium, with 2 runners earning All-State honors including overall runnerup Griffin Stephens going 17:25 and frosh Buck Ledford placing 6th at 18:05.

The Jackets of Jeff Davis cracked the team Podium besting Bleckley County by 1 point. Joshua Ratliff led their swarm taking 9th overall in 18:08. Its safe to assume 2017 champ Garrett Rogers of Bleckley was unable to race Saturday or the Royals would have been a Podium squad..
