Athlete Q&A with Sprinter, Morgan Jamison from Lowndes HS

When did you first become interested in track?


I began running track in 5th grade.

What other Sports do you play for Lowndes?

My second sport is Football.

When did you realize, you had the talent to succeed in the sport? and who brought that to your attention?

 I realized, that I had the talent to suceed in sports when I entered the 7th grade. My MS coach, Coach Mitchell made me realize that.

What is your favorite event and why?

The 200 meter dash is my favorite event, because the 200 gives me time to build up my speed and accelerate, especially coming off the first 100 meters.

Who has been your most influential Coach in your Track career and why?

The most influential Coach in my track career is Coach Terry Quinn. Because, he motivates and pushes me to compete in every race and leave everything out on the track.

Do you compete in Indoor or Summer Club Track, and if not, why? 

I compete in summer track , with the  Sapphire-Ruff Riders located in Albany.

What has been your favorite moment in your Track career thus far and why?

My favorite moment, would be when I ran my fastest time in the 100 meter dash (10.59) in just my second time ever running this event.

What are your ultimate goals for the 2018 HS Outdoor Track season?

My utlimate goals this season, are to compete, drop times and win a State Championship in Track.

What is your favorite subject in school?

History is my favorite subject.

What is your favorite food?

Favorite food is Chinese Food.

How do you spend your 'off time' away from school and the track.

When I'm not running track or in school, I spend my time recovering and studying.

Are College coaches pursuing you to compete for them? and if so, who?

I'm receiving alot of mail from Miami, Indiana, Auburn, TCU, Florida, North Carolina, Tennessee, Louisville, and Hinds University has offered me a full ride.
