It was another great 2 days of competition at the Coaches Invitational this Spring, as 107 Elite Performances were achieved. More of an Individuals Showcase meet, Coaches lived up to its billing, with MileSplit GA onsite Saturday shooting video and great photos. The Pope HS staff did an excellent job as well organizing and running the meet led by Meet Director Cathi Monk. Lakewood Stadium also provided a great venue for competition. Arabia Mountain Boys 800 Sprint Medley squad also set a new US #1 time going 1:30.97 !

There was an intense battle going on in the Girls 4x800 between distance powers South Forsyth, Marist, Grayson and Milton HS. South Forsyth took a thrilling win in the end clocking a US #14 9:37.01..Grayson US #20, Milton US #21, Marist US #23. If only Northview could have been there as they hold the US #15 spot!
South Forsyth's Girls will go into the http://gatfxcca.com Record books after the HS Outdoor season as they shattered the 4x1600 All-Time record posting a 20:37.54! (:24 !) Northview will also ascend to #2 All-Time clocking a 20:49 ! Including: Kaylee Dupont, Savannah Carnahan, Emily Maisal and Millicent Bergey.
Sophmore Terrell Smith from South Gwinnett (Lane 5) burned down a 10.66 in winning the Boys 100 Meter Dash.
Aliyah Whisby from East Coweta once again had a clearance of 5-8 to win the HJ making her US #7 along with Cortney Jones of Rockdale County (5-8 at Loch Johnson Saturday)
Nia Seldon of Marietta HS won the Girls Shot Put with a toss os 42-10.75, good for US #18.
Brianna Isles of Brookwood became the first girl this Outdoor Season to reach 40' as she won the Triple Jump with a mark of 40-00.00 which is US #7.
Varian Martin of Marietta has become a contender to challenge Ryan Camp of Archer (192-0 at Tiger Creek) for the 6A State title in the Discus as he let fly a toss of 171-6.
107 performances met the MileSplit US Second Team standard.
