Pope's Ashley Kehoe took advantage of a course miscue (by all) winning the Girls Overall

HS Girls race was quite interesting with the wrong turn tossed in for a zinger. Lovett's Serena Tripodi was closing in on Ashley Kehoe who led the race from start to finish, but then they took the wrong turn (as there was no bicycle rabbit in years past), ran into some tape and that threw a monkey in the wrench. A few believed Tripodi would have won if they had gone the right way as she had timed her move perfectly. Harrison, Lovett, and Parkview all moved up well during the race. It was hot with no shade so times were slower than most expected overall.  Kehoe held off a hard charging pack winning her first major invitational in 17:58, with Tripodi at 18:01. Rounding out the shortened race was Mill Creek's Hannah Petit in 18:27, and a pair of Hoyas in Kira Stanley and Mattie Rountree (both in 18:29)

North Hall's Quintin Miles Outlasted hard charging Sam Costa of Mill Creek

It was really humid for the boys race. The large start was not an issue at all and it never seemed crowded. In the boys race the top 6 pack of Miles, Saam Costa, Stephen Martinez, Nik Calia, Spencer Fields, and Fernando Lincoln of Auburn established themselves early. Schwind of Lambert made a late charge to take 4th. Miles led most of the race and began pulling away. Costa tried to out kick him late, but Miles held him off for the win in 16:18 as Costa posted a 16:19. The key to St.Pius' win was 3-4 runners ran great obviously taking top 10, although their 5th faded in the last 400 and fell down 3 times because of the heat, costing them 15ish points. North Hall looked strong through 4, but needs to find a consistent 5th guy. Mill Creek was without their #2 today and their #3 cramped in the heat fading... Auburn seemed to have learned from going out too hard last year and gave St.Pius a run for their money. North Cobb ran smart as a pack the whole way. Times seemed slower than normal, but it's hard to say for sure.
