Team Race
Teamwise, Georgia Military Prep and Jenkins County have some experience running against better competition and whoever has done more hill training should have an advantage. GMAC won the Area 4 meet on a legit xc course at ACS (NEGA) over Commerce with a 19:38 team average. Jenkins County won down in Baxley on a course no team north of I-16 has ran on beating Echols County with a 18:36 team avg. Look for that to be considerably slower on the state course. Commerce, Echols County should be favored to get Podium spots, but anything could happen
Individual Race
There are 3 guys who have separated themselves from the pack and will be in the mix for a state win. Marc Brannen of Jenkins County who clocked a 16:51 at region, placed 2nd at Ray Miller and was 3rd at WACO. Dylan Smith from Gordon Lee who was Area 4 champ in 17:33 and competed in many races at the Chattanooga Area XC meets doing quite well. GMAC's Will Archer has some experience on hills at the tough Athens Academy course and was :09 back at ACS. Everyone else will be racing for the next 7 All-State spots.
