GISA AA Girls Preview

                                             GISA AA Girls Preview

Girls AA

When it comes down to GISA Girls AA, it reminds me a little of A Public in GHSA. With the exception of a few talented girls and a program or two, the level of competition drops off extremely from the larger AAA schools. The participation numbers are fairly low, like A Public girls, and regions reporting results is 50%. But, Regions 2 and 3 gave us something to analyze. The girls team race is up for grabs and Mary Alice Smoot is primed to win the individual title.

Westminster Christian  1AA- Out of Watkinsville, the prohibitive favorite to win the team race, based on the virtual meet (but no region results, grrrr) Their top runner all season has been Abigail Snyder.

Trinity Christian  2AA- Trinity Christian Dublin has competed in many meets with results and won their region meet barely by 2 points on their home course over St. Andrews out of Savannah. Top runners for TCD are Carly Blum and Abby Drake.

St. Andrews School on the Marsh  2AA- Quite a valiant effort a long way from home may serve St.Andrew's well as they will make yet another long trek to Loganville. Rebecca Suh and Victoria McLaren are their top harriers.

Covenant Academy  1AA- Covenant Academy from Macon hosted a nice meet a few weeks earlier and on paper could compete for a top 3 team finish. Leading the team this Fall on the trail were Emily London and Anna Dewitt.
