Postseason Team Entries

A contestant in Track and Field may compete in a maximum of four (4) events and may not be entered in more than four events, excluding relays. 

  • If a contestant is entered in more than the allowable number of events, meet management shall scratch the contestant from the excess event(s) by following the listed Order of Events. 

  • A contestant may officially compete in: 

    • 1. Four individual events - NO Relay events. 

    • 2. Three individual events - May be listed on any number of relay events but compete in only one relay event. 

    • 3. Two individual events - May be listed on any number of relay events but compete in only two relay events. 

    • 4. One individual event - May be listed on all three relay events and compete in all three relay events.

HS Regulations

  • 100 meter Hurdles (33'' girls) & 110 meter Hurdles (39'' boys)

  • Pole vault girls starts at 7'0" and boys' starts at 9'0"

  • High Jump height for girls will start at 4'4" and height for boys start at 5'4" 

  • Discus (2 lbs. 3.274 oz. girls & 3 lbs., 8.438 oz. boys)

  • Shot Put (8 lbs 13 oz. girls & 12 lbs. boys) 

Sectional Qualifying

  • Regional Finals: Lane Events - (Section vs. Time) - Top 4 in finals advance to the Sectionals B AAAA, hosted on Saturday, May 4h 2023 at North Oconee High School

  • Regional Finals: Lane Events - (Section vs. Time) 4x800/4x200/4x100/4x400/1600/3200 - One heat of each

  • 9 to field event finals (3 throws and 3 jumps...additional 3 throws/jumps in final

  • 5 alive for High Jump and Pole Vault

Team Tent Location

  • Day 1 - Team team tents are allowed to be set up on the home side

  • Day 2 - Team team tents must be set up in the visitor's bleachers for this event.

Infield Area

The infield is designated for warming up (15-20 minutes before 1st call) and or for cooling down at the conclusion of an event is complete (first 15 minutes after the event).  There will be zones marking off runways for both warm-ups and cool down lanes.  Athletes can only use designated First Place hurdles for warm-ups; do not use any UCS hurdles for warming up. 

Spectators

The home stadium concrete and aluminum bleachers will be designated for spectators.  Additionally, on day 1 there will be a spectator area located at the end of the shot put sector, in the gravel location.  This location will be available for spectators to watch the shot put, discus, and pole vault events.  Due to the facility procedures, all spectators are required to follow these safety guidelines in order to maintain this efficient plan of action.  It's important to UNDERSTAND, student athletes, coaches, and volunteers are allowed on the turf or infield for various purposes. 

Concessions

Concessions will be provided at this event located outdoors (food truck) on the home side of the stadium.

Bathrooms

The bathrooms are located in the bottom of the press-box.

Hospitality

BSN Sports on Wednesday and Zaxby's PTC on Friday will be providing dinner for all head and assistant coaches, officials, and volunteers.

USATF Starter

USATF will be providing  certified starters for this event.  Russ Durand and Arlena Epps will serve as the official/recall starters. 

Fully Automatic Timing

First Call Timing will serve as the official timing group, led by Lamar Grant

Meet Announcer

We will provide a meet announcer for this event, led by Steve Andrews on day 1 and Reed Shackelford on day 2.  Important announcements will be made before, during, and at the end of the meet, including continuous event calls reminders. 

Check-in Table

A table will be designated for the HS Girls and HS Boys on Wednesday for the 1600m and on Friday for all running/relay events. The check-in tables will be located near the endzone (jumbotron side). Athletes are reminded to report to their designated check-in venue no later than the 3rd call.  ALL athletes who are set to compete in running and relay events will be required to report to the check-in table to sign in with the clerk.  Once this takes place a number sticker, indicating the heat and lane assignment will be assigned to each individual athlete. 

Entries

Scratches can be made during the meeting. 

Uniforms/Jewelry

We will follow the NFHS uniform rules (GHSA uniform rules). 

Heats/Trials

Heats will be run as a final against the clock to determine the top places.  There will be 3 trials, followed by finals (reseed top 9) in the long jump, triple jump, shot put and discus events.  At the high jump and pole vault events, each participant will be allowed up to three (3) attempts at each designated height. 

Scoring

The top eight places in individual and relay events will be scored at this meet: 10-8-6-5-4-3-2-1.

Awards

Teams who finish as the champions and as runner-up will be awarded a trophy. High school and middle school athletes who finish in the top 4 in all individual & relay events will each be awarded a medal for their overall performance. The top girl and boy performer will receive the High Point Award.
