As per NAML league rules, athletes may participate in a maximum of ANY three (3) individual events, plus any relays.   There will be an entry limit of FOUR (4) participants per event per school for each gender.

If you have additional team members that would like to participate in a few events, we will have unofficial extra heats of the 100 and 200 which will be hand timed and thus will not count towards the scoring.   If you wish to have athletes participate in these heats, please just email their names and times to Coach Binford by Sunday March 28 at 10:00pm (Coleman.Binford@gmail.com).   Please know that these heats are intended for kids that are either not otherwise participating in the meet or are only in one or two other events.   They will not appear on the official heat sheets.   Times/places/results will not be entered into MileSplit.   The coaches of the athletes are responsible for timing their own athletes.

If you have more than four who would like to participate in the boys or girls 3200 m run, they may run with the other athletes entered in MileSplit (since that event is hand timed anyway...see below).   The coach must designate these additional athletes as non-scorers before the race.

Entry deadline is Sunday March 28 at 10:00pm

No race day additions please other than to the non-scoring heats of the 100 and 200

---Heat sheets will be provided by the host school, two per team.   If they are emailed to Coach Binford before the meet, he will forward them to the coaches of the participating schools.

---Facility:

We have a facility that we are proud of including equipment that is in good condition and a nice surface on our track.   We do have one unusual feature that teams should be aware of.   We have a 200m oval with an adjacent straightaway.   Take a look at it using the included google earth link below.

https://tinyurl.com/perimeterTRACK

---Schedule:

Field events will start at 3:30 pm.   On the straightway (again, it's adjacent to the oval) we will start with the boys 110m H at 3:30, then the girls 100 H, then the 100m dash.

At 3:45pm we will run the 3200m on the oval (16 laps).  Depending on the number of entries we will likely run boys and girls together.  This is the only event which will be HAND TIMED.   Therefore, we will need and are asking for one or two coaches/parent volunteers (and some stopwatches) per team to hand time and count laps (you will be assigned a runner before we start and certainly you may request to time "your" kid).   Once all the times are recorded on paper, we will be responsible for communicating those results to the course timer and he/she will enter them by hand at his/her earliest convenience.

Upon the completion of the 100m dash we will then move the FAT system to the finish line of the oval and run the 4 x 100m relay, then the open 400m dash.   See the complete rolling schedule below.

3:30 Field Events

Long jump (G/B)

Pole Vault (G & B together)

Shot (G/B) (6lb for girls...8K for boys)

Discus (B/G)

High jump (B/G)

Triple Jump (Upon completion of LJ and/or PV...girls then boys)

3:30... on straightaway adjacent to 200 oval

Boys 110 H (state heights for all hurdle events...G=30"; B=33")

Girls 100 H (state heights for all hurdle events...G=30"; B=33")

100m dash

Additional hand timed exhibition heats of the 100 m dash.

(The timer will move to the 200 oval start finish line while these exhibition heats occur...see more info listed above regarding these heats)

3:45...On the 200 oval

3200 m run (hand timed...see above for more information)

After the timer moves to 200 oval start-finish line

(Rolling schedule all remaining events girls followed by boys)

4 x 100 m relay (note two exchange zones that are color coded...we

will instruct kids at the meet...It is a bit complicated but we will explain it

as thoroughly as necessary)

400 m

800 m

200 m

200 m Hurdles (see note below...G=30"; B=33")

1600 m run

4 x 400 m relay

Note: You might have noticed that we have a 200m hurdle event, not a 300m hurdle event.   This is because we only have a 200m oval (thus it would not be possible to have the hurdles the correct and consistent distance apart if we were to run a 300m event).   The 200m hurdles will be scheduled towards the end of the meet, in the same spot that the 300 is run at the other meets you/we attend.

---Awards:

Trophies for the 1st and 2nd place teams for each gender

Gold, silver and bronze medals for the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place athletes in each event

Team trophies should be awarded at the end of the meet, results permitting.

Individual medals will be distributed at the awards tent as the meet proceeds.   Listen for announced results, then 1st, 2nd and 3rd placers should approach the awards tent and claim their medals.

Unclaimed medals will be placed in an envelope and given to respective coaches at the end of the meet (including a list of participants who have not yet clamed their medal.
