What is different this year?

This year we are going to eliminate the open races at the end of the day where you can run the remainder of your team. Unfortunately, this has the tendency to be the most crowded race and we are trying to limit the number of athletes at tent areas (waiting to race), starting line, and finish areas. Under the current schedule, the most athletes a team would bring to race would be 28 (boys and girls, varsity and j.v. together). I know how frustrating it is going to be to get a race in for your J.V. kids this year. Please understand I pray this is only a one year deal.

The schedule above has been revised. Please look it over carefully. Instead of having 32 teams per race, . I will have an early morning session of J.V. races and a late morning session of J.V. races. These races will also be capped with 7 runners of 24 teams. Based on my history with the Orthopaedic as a coach and now as a meet director, I know all of you will not bring a J.V. and will opt only to bring your top 7. There will be 3 divisions of Varsity Races. I am renaming and restructuring the races into Large School (5A, 6A, & 7A), Championship (All Classes), and Small School (1A, 2A, 3A, & 4A). You can choose what race you would like to be in based on your classification or if you want in the Championship race.

Please note, as we approached the actual date of the invitational, if your team is registered for the Championship race and we are beyond the 24 cap, I have the right to move you into a Classification race. I would not do so without contacting you. Right now, I am going to operate on a first come, first save basis. I will update every 2 to 3 days as the races fill up. But if it comes down to it, I will use a ranking system of current or past performances to balance the races.
