The Region 4-AAAAA Championship was a glimpse of the Girls State race as Starrs Mill and McIntosh faced off with the host Panthers taking the win and jumping over McIntosh. Dunwoody rested 4 of their top 5 at Region. McIntosh girls jumped over Creekview. Union Grove's 21:09 at region moved them into 9th. Clarkston looked very strong in 6-AAAAA and passes Forsyth Central on the Boys side. Starrs Mill is a strong 5th after winning 4-AAAAA. Region 4 and 6 have 2 weeks to rest before State which could be a factor.

On a morning that started chilly, things heated up soon enough at the crack of the pistol as host Starrs Mill swept the Region 4-AAAAA XC titles and the Individual honors to boot. As projected Starrs, McIntosh, Morrow and Union Grove advanced on the Boys side to State and Starrs. McIntosh, Northgate and Union Grove will move on the ladies end.
Is it already Region time?... and the answer to that was 1-AAAAAA being decided down in Moultrie (Colquitt County) Thursday and 4 others kick off Saturday. With Region most of the top squads will take care of business and try not to get injured. For those schools on the 'Bubble' it may be a day of rejoicing and for some heartbreak after hundreds of miles of training including hot Summer runs only to have your season and possibly HS running career end. Best of Luck to everyone the next 8 days. Pictured above is Starrs Mill's Joshua Warren
