                                                                                                            Varsity Girls

The Girls race was similar to the boys as Starrs Mill and McIntosh went out hard the first loop. Starrs Mill placed  4 girls in the top 10 with freshman Mary Valli taking the lead and holding off a charging  Caroline Nelson of Northgate. There was some question as to whether a male runner may have pacing her at some small point which was ruled in a vote no DQ. (It could have just been some "exuberant cheering"  from what was discussed) But, all is good as Valli was ruled the champ posting a 19:56 for a 3 second win over Nelson (16:59) For the Panthers Emily Sims came across 3rd in 20 flat, Sophie Handel 6th (20:06) and Tori Nails 10th (20:19) McIntosh was 18 points back in 2nd placing 3 runners in the top 8 led by Rachel Ward in 4th overall at 20:03, Tarna Zander-Velloso 7th (20:13) and in 8th Brianna Sattinger (20:14) Northgate placed 3rd behind Nelson and Caitlin Bellora's 9th (20:19) Ellunde Montgomery picked up a 6th place finish (20:09) jhelping the Wolverines book a State spot.
