Golden Eagle Invitational 2014

It was a beautiful day at Nash Farm Battlefield as 25 teams mixed it up at the Golden Eagle Invitational. West Florida Tech HS invaded from Pensacola FL (9 hr trip) and crossed back into the CST zone with both Varsity team 1st place trophies. Logan Poteet cruised to another win in the VB race and Rebecca Dow of Marietta was strong taking the Girls Overall title. Padeia swept the MS team honors and Overall titles. Meet Director Claud Spinks made several minor tweaks to the Battle of Atlanta course for the Golden Eagle

The 2014 Golden Eagle is smaller than last year, but it gives xc runners an opportunity to compete on an excellent course that's moderately challenging with much less jostling than the 'Battle of Atlanta'  Mostly area schools will be competing for team/individual awards.  Bring a chair, set it on the top shelf and one can actually enjoy watching most of the race!
