WACO Invitational debuted a new venue at Ridge Road Primary School that was equally comparable in speed to the old course at Sandersville Elementary which was purchased by the State for a Tech School. Bleckley County, as expected, dominated both races sweeping the team titles. The Lady Royals were just short of a perfect score. Placing 1st was soph Ellen Powell laying waste to an inferior field recording a 20:14 leading the Lady Royals to another team win. (which could boost their rank this week} The Boys race was a completely different beast, as Bleckley's boys had to fight off a tenacious 4A Hephzipah squad, for a 4 point margin of victory. Key to the the Royals win was a 1-5 Split of :54 led by Eli Belflower's 6th place finish in 17:34 and frosh Dayton Cannon's 17:34 sealing the win. Tyler Fountain of West Laurens scored the boys Overall title in 16:57. WACO's Quintaveon Poole was 2nd in 17:14, and 1A Public's Mark Brannen of Jenkins County was 3rd in 17:16. Reggie Fields led Hephzibah's runnerup team finish placing 5th at 17:33.
