Paulding County Championships
Date: Wednesday, October 3, 2012
Location: White Oak Park
Varsity Teams: Top 7 runners
Open Teams: Unlimited
Teams Invited: East Paulding, Hiram, North Paulding, Paulding Co., South Paulding

5:15pm - JV Boys/JV Girls Combined
5:55pm - Varsity Boys (7)
6:25pm - Varsity Girls (7)
7:15pm - Awards/Senior Recognition
Cost:
We are having the meet professionally timed ($300 split between EPHS and NPHS) and usually spend about $200 on the awards (EPHS). Last year, we were able to make about $150 from T-shirt sales to counter some of the cost. We are asking for a donation of $25 a team assist in off-setting the cost of putting on the meet.
Meet Entry:
The meet entry will be through http://ga.milesplit.com/. Go to the website and click on Calendar then 2012 Meet Calendar under Cross Country. Scroll down to find the meet and enter it. Please make sure that this is done by Monday, October 1st at 12:00pm!!
Course:
This will be a newly designed course around the park that will be mostly run on the gravel trail in the park. The course will start in the field next to the upper gravel parking lot adjacent to the large pavilion. The runners will go through the field and take a left onto the gravel path. They will complete 2 loops and they will turn to finish into the same field where they started.
Awards:
Medals will be given out to the top 10 runners in each varsity race and the top 3 runners in the JV division. The winning team will receive our traveling county trophy. The winner of the trophy will get to keep it for 1 year and will be responsible for adding their winners plaque to the trophy. The trophies are fairly expensive so it is expected that the winning coach will take care of it for the year. If the trophy is damaged, lost or stolen, the team that is currently in possession of the trophy will have to buy a replacement.
Senior Recognition
After the race awards are given out, the coaches will recognize their senior runners. At the end of this document you will find the information sheet for each senior runner. Each coach is responsible for printing out one sheet per senior and filling them out. Then the coach of that athlete will read off the sheet for each athlete as they step forward. Coaches, please do not wait until the last minute for this. Some of these people have worked hard for 4 full years under you and they deserve to be recognized.
Reminder of Rules/Appeals Committee
We will follow all of the typical XC rules as explained out in the white book. If anyone violates those rules (jewelry, uniform, course conduct) then they will be disqualified from the race. The appeals committee will rotate every year. This year the appeals panel will consist of:

Jobs for Coaches:
Running a meet is a big responsibility so we will need some help from all the coaches. The head coaches do not have to personally meet these responsibilities; just make sure you have an assistant or parent that gets the job done:
