Peoples finishes 2nd in Vault with new GA #2 all time mark of 12\'

Mauri Peoples had a tremendous showing at the Mobile Meet of Champions. The young vaulter, from Carrollton, hit an all time mark of 12\' in the vault to finish just ahead of Analise Peters, of GACS for 2nd place. Peoples moves up to #2 on the all time list behind Nicci Faires of Roswell.

Another top performance was turned in by Chalondra Goodman, of Newnan, who ran a 12.13/24.55 double to take 2nd in both events. Just a freshman, Goodman let it be known that she would not falter in a big meet atmosphere, finishing .14 of a second behind 1st place in the 100 and ..37 of a second back in the 200.

Shelley Taylor, of Northwest Whitfield, also had a solid meet, posting a time of 11:04.14 in the 2 mile to finish in fourth place. Nicole Okolo also added a 2nd place finish in the 100m hurdles behind Kristi Castlin, of Chapel Hill. The two girls have lined up in several key meets with Castlin finishing on top in the last two.

Collins Hill\'s showing in the 4x800 also earned top 10 all time rankings putting the Lady Eagles in fourth place all time in the state of Georgia, just ahead of the last two 4x800 teams from Collins Hill that competed at Mobile.

On the boys side, Armanti Hayes, of Colquitt Co. posted a nice 21.61/48.04 double to finish in the top 3 in both events, while Kirk Carter took home 3rd place in the 800 with his 1:56.76 effort. Collins Hill\'s boys finished 2nd in the 4x800m race in a time of 8:04.92, Michael Hughes of GACS also had a nice meet, going 15\' in the vault for the 2nd time this season.
