Gwinnett Co. to feature 1800 athletes during 2 days of competition!

Intra County battles take center stage this weekend with the Gwinnett Co. Championships 1st out of the blocks. 1800 athletes will compete over 2 days to decide who gets bragging rights for the year. On the girls side, Collins Hill is the overwhleming favorite with Nicole Okolo, Jackie Drouin and Maya Moore as prohibitive favorites. Melanie Trumbo of Brookwood comes in with the top high jump mark while Brittany Hall of Meadowcreek has one of the fastest 800m times in the country! Eve Machovec comes in with the top discus throw at 143\'11\" and yet Juliana Smith of Berkmar comes in with the top shot put mark of 40\'11\".

In the 1600, Jackie Drouin, Sara Curry of Peacthree Ridge and Nicole Dimercurio come in with 3 of the top 6 marks in the state. In the 800m, young Melissa Stephenson of Parkview will try to prove herself the heir apparent to Brittany Hall while battling it out in a field that includes Jackie Drouin, Erin Guglielmo, Tamia Thomas and Brittany Watts of Shiloh, all capable of going under 2:20!
