Union Grove High School standout Dwayne Stowe (Class of 2027) has officially cemented his place among the nation's elite field athletes following an extraordinary outdoor track and field season. Competing out of McDonough, Georgia, the sophomore triple jump phenom put together a string of dominant performances that caught the attention of recruiters and fans nationwide.
Stowe's season was defined by consistent excellence, including a dominant victory at the GHSA 4A Region 2 Championships and a spectacular runner-up finish at the GHSA State Championships, where he cleared an elite 48' 8.5" mark.
However, the breakthrough of his year came in late March at the Henry County Track & Field Championships. Stowe shattered his previous metrics by unleashing a breathtaking, personal-record leap of 48-10. The monumental jump skyrocketed him to the #8 ranking in the state of Georgia for the 2026 outdoor season and placed him in the top 1% of all high school triple jumpers nationwide.
The track and field community immediately took notice of the milestone. Stowe's 48-10 mark was overwhelmingly voted as the Breakthrough Performance of the Week following the meet. Proving that the mark wasn't just a temporary flash of brilliance, the jump sustained its impact all year long, ultimately earning the ultimate fan nod as the 2026 Georgia Boys Track & Field Breakthrough Performance of the Year.
