Emily Reese and Emily Borsare were at it again on Saturday and this time, the young lady from McIntosh found herself on the winning end both individually as well as in the team standings, as the McIntosh girls looked most impressive at the Boling Park Invitational edging out kennesaw Mountain for the win. At the Clara Bowl Invitational, Emily Reese used a scorching start to put some distance between herself and the talented Borsare. Reese was able to hold off the hard charging Borsare for the win that time but today the tables were turned. Borsare posted a four second win over the equally talented Reese as these two young ladies provide further evidence that they may just be the two best runners ever in the state of Georgia. McIntosh took the team win with an impressive 20:16 average to finish 23 points ahead of runner up Kennesaw Mountain.Lindsey Pickens finished a distant third to the young phenoms in an impressive 19:03. Jennifer Barbi (South Forsyth) and Taylor Adams (Sprayberry) rounded out the top 5 and were the only runners to break 20 minutes on the course.
On the boys side, DJ McMillan of Alpharetta, posted a 10 second win over Zack Flickinger of Lassiter, completing the course in 16;35. Flecking finished just ahead of the Lethbridge borthers from Our Lady of Mercy who finished the course in 16:49 and 16:50 respectively. Lassiter needed every one of those points as they just edged Kennesaw Mountain by 1 point for the team win. Drew Jones and Matt Cheij of Lassiter also posted top 10 finishes to help the cause.
In the boys 3a Race, Josh Houser of Blessed Trinity took top honors with a 16:46 to lead his team to the title in another close finish, edging out Landmark Christian by 3 points. In the girls 3a Race, Ali McWhirter and Haley Kolff of Holy Innocents went 1-2 but it wasn\'t enough as Blessed Trinity claimed the next 3 spots to win the championship with an impressive 36 points.
