As the 2026 outdoor season moves into its championship phase, a select group of Georgia seniors are prepared to leave a lasting legacy. From the sprint lanes to the distance trails and the high-flying field events, these young women are chasing final PRs and state titles. Sprint and Hurdle Standouts
The sprints are dominated by seasoned competitors who have refined their speed over the last four years.
Demya Gates (Carver Atlanta): Gates has been a revelation this spring, establishing herself as a top contender in the short sprints. She recently recorded a blistering 11.82s in the 100m and a 24.59s in the 200m, with her explosive starts making her a threat in any heat.
Camila Medina (Cherokee Bluff): A versatile sprinter with elite range, Medina has posted impressive senior season marks including an 11.86s 100m, a 23.90s 200m, and a 56.53s 400m. Her consistency across all three distances marks her as a premier point-scorer.
Dallas Guy (Dacula): A hurdle specialist with national-caliber credentials, Guy has been dominant in the 100m hurdles with a career-best 13.48s. She recently followed that up with a 13.65s this spring and a strong 44.91s in the 300m hurdles.

Josie Hutchinson (Pope): A distance powerhouse, Hutchinson enters the postseason with a new PR of 2:15 in the 800m. That speed, combined with her tactical brilliance in the 1600m and 3200m, makes her a perennial podium threat in Class 6A.
Madsen Smith (St. Pius X): Smith has shown incredible improvement in her senior campaign, clocking a 5:12.84 in the 1600m and an 11:07.10 in the 3200m. Her ability to hold a fast pace over long distances has been a cornerstone of her team's success.
Bree Brooks (Archer): A mid distance specialist, Brooks has recorded a personal best of 2:13.30 in the 800m this spring. She also contributes in the 400m and 4x400m relays, proving to be a versatile senior leader.

Takaiyah Bacon: A powerful presence at the jump pits, Bacon has significantly improved her distance in the long jump and triple jump this year, aiming for a sectional qualifying spot.
Armani Somers (Gainesville): Somers has emerged as one of the top senior performers in the state this year. Her quad-threat capability in the 100m, high jump, triple jump, and the long jump makes her a critical asset for Gainesville as they head into the region championships.

Kaz McLoughlin: A talented thrower, McLaughlin excels in both the shot put and discus, known for her finishes near the front of the field in every meet this year.
Teah Gales (Jefferson): A power specialist, Gales has been a force in the throws, consistently throwing over the 40 foot mark. Her senior leadership has been vital in propelling Jefferson's relay teams to top-tier state rankings.
