Now that the season is over, it's important to recognize who broke a state record in Georgia this year.
Kendrick Joshua from Richmond Hill broke the 300m hurdles state record at the GHSA 6A Sectional A meet with a time of 35.60.
Alexander Broke the 4x400m relay state record at the GHSA State Championships with a time of 3:09.45
Alexander broke the 4x800m relay record at New Balance Outdoor Nationals with a time of 7:43.79
Mary Nesmith from Marietta broke the 1600m state record at the Hoka Festival of Miles with a time of 4:41.30
Averi Lowen from Bowdon broke the 3200m state record at the Creekview Distance Showcase with a time of 9:41.95
On the following two pages are the top ten performances all time in Georgia for the main 18 events. Keep in mind that these marks include both hand times and performances that are wind aided. I decided to keep these in for reference because some of Georgia' old top performances don't have those measures in place and I wanted to keep them in rather than exclude them. But it's important to know that any modern mark in the sprints or jumps that doesn't have a legal wind would not be eligible for a state record.
I also did not do conversions for the mile and two mile, so the distance races have some slight adjustments to them based on the main events that are run.

It's also worth pointing out that the Georgia coaches association, mostly led up by coach Andrew Hudson, has been keeping track of these records as well while also removing performances that do not count and listing all of the names on each relay record.
