We're far enough into the season that it finally makes sense to start looking at some team rankings. These will of course change as we go, and I expect significant change from now until the state meet. So think of these more as an outline to our season. It's definitely not the whole picture and the colors aren't even close to coming together yet. But we've got an idea of where we are going, we just need to figure out how we will get there. It'll be good to revisit these every few weeks as the picture starts to come together.
Of course, the biggest wild card here is the fact that the state meet is only one day for each classification. That will definitely cause some changes from these rankings. Teams that are scoring very highly in both individual events and similar relays might not be able to do so in the long run. I am personally very curious to see how that affects the outcome of things. That's why depth might matter more this year than ever before.
So for these team rankings, I've scored all the way through 20 athletes instead of the usual 8 so that we get an idea of the depth that each team is looking at. These team rankings are based on the current Milesplit individual rankings as of March 12th, 2026.
