Fulton County Meet Preview

 

This years championships will be very competitive on the girls and boys side.
 
Girls
 
 The girls 100 and 200 meter favorites include Westlake's Aminah Blount, Riverwoods Jamiliah Middlebrooks, and Langsston Hughes Wande Brewer. Westlake's Aubrielle Wright will look to double up in the 400 meters and 800 meters. The girls 1600 and 3200 meter race will be a close race and maybe a possible double win in both distance races for Alpharetta's Dylan Hassett. The 100 meter hurdles race will be a battle between Langston Hughes Khadija Stuckey (14.75) and Westlake's Shani Chandler (14.86) who will also look to improve on her leading state time of 43.15 in the 300 hurdles. The Westlake girls will also look to double up in both relays. Creekside's Kelly Spratley will try to get a double win in the long jump and triple jump. The girls high jump favorite will be Shelby Barker of Roswell who has jumped 5-6. Renae Bonner of Creekside is the favorite in the shot and Chattahochee's Amy Cotta is the favorite in the discus. Milton's Samanta Becker has the best pole vault jump of 10-6. The girls teams favorite to will be a close race between Westlake, Roswell, Milton & Alpharetta.
 
Boys
 
The boys team championship where it can come down to the race of the 4x400 relay. Centennials Martin Jenkins is the favorite in the 100, however he will be challenged by Bannekers Robert Brantley in the 200 meters who has the state's fastest 400 meter time of 48.32. The 800 meter race is up for grabs if a athlete will run under 2:02. Chattahoochee's Austin Ulich will try for a double win in the 1600 & 3200. In addittion, Austin's teammate Dion Dupoux will also try for a double win in both hurdles. Both relay races will be a battle between Westlake & Banneker. Westlake's Carnell Boyd will also try for a double win in the long & triple jump. Milton's Peter Flaaen has the top high jump with a jump of 6-6 and Centennial will look to go 1st and second in the pole vault. Chattahoochee's Austin Shadoan has a shot put throw of 45-10 and Joe Turner has the top discus throw of 124-5.
