FRAKE TRAIN ROARS! 67-8.75! Howard Launches Shot 47-0.in GISA meeet

 

Davis Fraker put an exclamation point on a superb 2nd week of Ga HS Track & Field unleashing a monster 67-8.75 in the Shot (the best throw for a HS athlete in GA history) at The Georgia Weight Throw Championships held in Marietta placing him 2nd on MileSplit.Us. Other Throwers surpassing the 60' barrier in this meet were Ben Glauser of Athens Academy (61-9) and Caleb Whitener of East Paulding (60-11.25). In the Boys Discus 3 men eclipsed 160' including Liberty County's Aaron Bennett at 166-10, Marist's Burke McCarty at 164-6 and Peyton Wilhoite of North Hall at 160-10. Not to be outdone, Sarah Howard from GISA Trinity Christian down in Milledgeville uncorked a 47-0 in the Shot to record the 2nd best mark in GA HS competition history and is currently ranked #1 on MileSplit.Us and she is only a sophomore.

 
Foot Locker All-American Kirubel Erassa of Grayson definitely had the best multiple event of the weekend at the Collins Hill Eagle Icebreaker scorching the track 3 times. First, he anchored Grayson's DMR squad with a 4:13.8 taking them up to 7th on the All-Time Performance list (10:22). 2 hours later he anchored their 4 x 800 squad with a 1:56 leg and only an hour later finished the drill with a 9:05 3200 win. Tyler McCormack won the 1600 in 4:25 and placed behind Erassa in the 3200m in 9:19. Another great athlete with sparkling multiple events performances was Julian Vann of Parkview at the Ridge Invite as he TJ'd 46-5.50 and won the 100m in 11.10, 200m in 22.53 and anchored the 4x100 squad to 1st in 42.60.
 
Some smokin' Relay performances were recorded also this weekend including the Collins Hill's Girls currently leading the nation on MileSplit in the SMR 1600 in 4:05.98. Grayson, led by Kirubel Erassa is #1 in the DMR with 10:22.01(7th All-Time in GA), Banneker Boys are #3 burning down the house in 1:34.76 in the SMR 800 at the Wheeler Relays. Brookwood Boys are currently 8th in the SMR 1600 in 3:41.08. Monroe-Albany boyz are #7 in the 4x100 relay with a 42.18 in Tifton.
 
In Girls Distance, junior Anna Bowles of Lakeside-Evans had an outstanding race early in the season putting down an 11:04 at the Westside 5-Way. Allie Schaich turned in the best 1600 race at a Creekview Tri-Meet on 3-3 with a 5:11.56.
 
In the Sprints, Auburn bound Alycia Prior warmed up the mondo at the Ridge Invite in the 100meters with an 11.81 on the Girls side. Jasmine Smith of Jackson HS torched the track at the Riverdale Relays in 11.97. Frosh Kendell Williams of Kell held on to the top time this season in the 100 Hurdles at 14.32 while Amber Brock of McEachern and Shay Chandler of Westlake had a titanic battle at The Ridge Invite with times of 44.03 and 44.38 respectively.
 
Washington's Antonio Goodwin laid down the top 100 meter time of the young season at the Riverdale Relays in 10.81. Not far behind Goodwin were Tori Tillman of The Ridge at 10.82 and Carrollton's Broderick Snoody at 10.85. Kevin Gary of South Gwinnett currently owns the best performances in the 400 going sub 49 at Racing the Comets posting a 48.93 in the 400 meters and a 22.25 in the 200 meters. Sylvester Baisden of Riverdale had the top time in the 110 Hurdles at 14.34 at Riverdale Relays and Sir' Paul Jones of Monroe-Albany set the standard to beat in the 300h at the Blue Devil Invite in Tifton clocking a 38.06.
 
Paul Malquist continued to raise the bar in the Vault chasing Jordan Scott's legendary 17-0 mark on Scott's old stomping ground at the Oconee-Barberitos Invite clearing 16-3. Chapel Hill's Lauren Wilson had a pr vault of 11-6 placing her in the top 10 nationally. Mimieux Land of Monroe-Albany cleared 5-6 in Tifton tying her for 6th on MileSplit.Us.Graylin Ward of Northgate skywalked to 6-10 at the Marist-Northgate Dual tying him for 2nd. Julienne McKee of Lassiter is ranked #2 in the TJ on the strength of her 39-01.50 bound and Denzel Gamble of Bainbridge had a breakout leap in the TJ of 47-3 placing him at 8th.
