The girls Varsity 1 Race at Bob Blastow was one of the most exciting races of the entire weekend

Well as we expected, Bob Blastow drew the most attention and athletes over the weekend. And it also produced the most elite performances. There were lots of new PRS despite the intense heat all week as athletes were excited and ready to go. Several other meets had some big performances and good races. North Georgia Championships and Ridge Ferry were the two next most competitive meets as several of the state's best opted for a more challenging course than Blastow for the early season race weekend. There are all sorts of ways to approach racing in the month of August, and each of them have merit. Ultimately it's alot of fun to get after it in August, but it's not about how you start, it's about how you finish. It'll be interesting to see which athletes are going to improve over the next few weeks of the season. There's alot of intense action during the month of September, so let's get going!
