I have always referred to track and field as the most pure sport. It's pure competition and the winner is obvious with it almost impossible to blame a loss on the poor decision of an individual in charge of the event. There are no referees to hand out penalties or judges to determine how many points you get based on style or technique. It's just who got to the line first, who got over the highest bar without knocking it down, or who jumped/threw the farthest. And since we record those measurements here at Georgia MileSplit it's always fun to look back on them to see who improved those marks more than anybody else.
Today we will look at our most improved field event athletes from the 2023 season. In order to make one of these lists you had to be in the top 500 in a given event in the 2023 season. Whoever improved the most distance/height, wins.
